Apple greenlights Chinese iPod plant
Last week Apple was probing allegations of running sweatshops at one of its iPod plants in China (see our coverage ). The London Mail on Sunday had reported that the Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd. was paying workers at a Longhua, China plant just US$50 a month, where women were working 15-hour days and being housed in dorms--for which room and board were deducted from those wages.
